Quotation

“What she was finding also was how one book led to another, doors kept opening wherever she turned and the days weren’t long enough for the reading she wanted to do.”

“Books did not care who was reading them or whether one read them or not. All readers were equal, herself included.”

                       - Alan Bennett “The Uncommon Reader”

  3. I love this quote. All too often life gets too busy for books...I used to relish the days spent doing nothing but reading!

  4. The Uncommon Reader is easily one of my favorite books. And the line about all readers being equal is meaningful even if one doesn't know she is the Queen.
